Is therapy for me?
You might want to see a psychotherapist for many different reasons. Perhaps you have a dilemma and wonder which way to turn.  Maybe your relationship has hit a snag. Maybe you hate your job—or worry that you will not find one.  Here are a few other possible reasons for considering therapy:

  • Your family is making you crazy.
  • Your friends are making you crazy.
  • Your children are disrespecting you.
  • Something terrible has happened to you or to someone you love.
  • Your child is unhappy.
  • Something is keeping you from reaching your goals.
  • You have lost something (or someone) you care deeply about.
  • You feel lonely and isolated.
  • You or someone you love is coping with a sudden injury or serious illness.
  • You can’t stop worrying.
  • You feel angry, sad, and frustrated, but you’re not sure why.
  • Everyone else’s needs seem to come before your own.
  • The future looks scary.
  • Life has lost its zing.

These days therapy isn’t just for people suffering from mental illness.  If you’re not sure what to do next, the right therapist can help you take stock of your options.  A fresh perspective can make your goals look more attainable.
